Dr. Zoghbi receives The George W. Jacoby Lectureship
The American Neurological Association has awarded The George W. Jacoby Lectureship to Dr. Huda Zoghbi, professor in the departments of pediatrics, molecular and human genetics, neurology, and neuroscience at Baylor and director of the Jan and Dan Duncan Neurological Research Institute at Texas Children's Hospital.
The American Neurological Association is a professional society of academic neurologists and neuroscientists devoted to advancing the goals of academic neurology; to training and educating neurologists and other physicians in the neurologic sciences; and to expanding both understanding of diseases of the nervous system and neurologists' ability to treat them.
This honor is given every three years by the ANA to a member who has been selected based on his or her meritorious experimental work upon any neurologic or psychiatric subject. Zoghbi will present a lecture titled: Using Genetics to Identify Pathways that Regulate Proteins Driving Neurodegeneration.
This year only 17 members were recognized by the ANA's 2017 scientific awards. The awards will be presented at the ANA's Annual Meeting in San Diego on October 15-17, 2017.
